The Quintiles Wrightsville Beach Marathon is fast, flat and notorious for personal bests with a peak elevation of only 32 feet. The race is an USATF certified qualifier and always welcomes a variety of runners from first timers to veterans.

The new course starts at the beach and runs through Landfall and UNCW Campus, giving runners a glimpse of what Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington offer. Family and friends will have opportunities to see runners five to eight times throughout the run. The NCAA basketball tournament kicks off in March, so there will be college-themed cheer stations with DJs, bands and spectator hot spots.

This race is an USATF certified qualifier, so it attracts a healthy variety of runners—from first timers to veterans. The full marathon is essentially two loops over the half marathon course with various straightaways over the course of the race.

Wrightsville Beach Marathon Relay

Runners of all capabilities can enjoy the Quintiles Wrightsville Beach Marathon experience by grabbing one or two friends and running the Marathon Relay. The course moves through the Wrightsville Beach waterfront. Eli’s 1 Mile Fun Run

Eli’s Family Fun Run is a Saturday afternoon event that kicks off Marathon Madness Weekend. The event was designed to raise awareness of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) and honor the memory of Eli, born October 9, 2011. The 1-mile starts and finishes at the Marathon and Half Marathon finish line.
