East Coast Got-Em-On Classic King Mackerel Tournament
July 8 - 10, 2016
The East Coast Got-Em-On Classic King Mackerel Tournament is Got-Em-On's oldest and biggest fundraiser. It was actually formed from the combination of two separate tournaments. The first was the East Coast Open, with a grueling three day format, held each May starting in 1980 (66 boats entered the first one): it was hosted by the Carolina Beach and Kure Beach Fire Departments. The second, The Got-Em-On Classic hosted by the club and held every July since 1981,was the first King Tournament to have a Lady Angler prize and a bidding Calcutta (TWT). Due to the increase in entries, the last bidding Calcutta was in 1983 with 88 boats. Committee members from both tournaments met in 1985 and decided that instead of competing for the same guarantors and sponsors, they would merge! Join us for the 2016 East Coast Got-Em-On Classic King Mackerel Tournament. Click here for additional information.

Pistons, Plugs & Shocks Car Show
July 16, 2016
Join us at Poplar Grove Plantation Saturday, July 16, 2016, from 9AM – 4PM for the HWY 17 Pistons, Plugs & Shocks Car Show under the shady trees of Poplar Grove. The grounds will be lined with classic cars representing each decade of the ingenuity of design and technology. Who were you sitting next to in that Ford Mustang or Volkswagon Beetle circa 1974? Come see what all that fuss was about – cruising the beaches and Main Streets of Anytown, USA, pulling into your favorite drive-in for cheeseburgers and Cherry Cokes. Did the family pack up the wagon and head west to see the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone National Park, or was it a weekend of air-conditioning and a swimming pool at a Howard Johnson’s along the Ocean Highway? Spend the day reminiscing with us and admiring what more than a few car enthusiasts love about their machines! Click here for additional information.
